Jennifer Lopez says birthday weekend was 'blast'

Jennifer Lopez 'had a blast' celebrating her 42nd birthday this weekend.

The singer-and-actress' actual big day was yesterday, although an entire weekend of merriment took place. Jennifer has had a tough time of late, having announced her split from estranged husband Marc Anthony just over a week ago.

The songstress appeared adamant not to let her personal problems ruin her weekend, choosing to party in Miami with friends and family. One of the highlights was a swanky dinner on Saturday night at Scott Conant's restaurant, Scarpetta, in the glamorous Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel.

"Jennifer looked radiant in a purple and silver evening dress," a source told People. "And when they brought out her birthday cake after the meal, she began to sing. She was very happy. The whole group had a blast, staying for hours. They closed down the restaurant."

Jennifer was joined by around 16 of her nearest and dearest, including mom Guadalupe and her sister, manager and stylist. The group indulged in authentic Italian cuisine such as foie gras ravioli and polenta as they enjoyed a stunning view of the ocean.

Friday night had featured a meal with friends and family at the wine cellar in The Forge, Miami Beach. Apparently this had been a spot she and Marc enjoyed frequenting together.

"Jennifer and her group arrived around 9pm and went directly to the private wine cellar for a pre-birthday dinner," a source explained.

"It was very secluded and beautiful among the bottles with bold and vibrant labels. The meal was served on a long rectangle mirrored table with cloud-like chandeliers hanging above."

The insider added that Jennifer was 'chatty and charming' throughout the evening.
