Linkin Park Remix For New Transformers Film

Having contributed the track New Divide to Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen in 2009, it seems that Linkin Park are keen to continue their association with the Michael Bay directed blockbuster franchise. The California based nu-metallers have announced that they will be featuring on the soundtrack to Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, which is scheduled to be released in cinemas this summer. The track, Iridescent, is a remix of a song that featured on their 2010 album A Thousand Suns.

According to RockItOut blog, there is no scheduled release date for the soundtrack, although the Iridescent remix can be streamed here.

Linkin Park are no stranger to the world of movie soundtracks. The band has contributed material to a number of projects in their decade long career including Jet Li’s The One, The Matrix Reloaded and Twilight as well as the Transformers series of films.

Linkin Park completed their US tour in support of A Thousand Suns on March 3rd of this year. This was after the hospitalisation of lead singer Chester Bennington due to viral infections and complications meant that several tour dates had to be rescheduled. Fans that saw the band on the Thousand Suns tour were able to obtain a free download of a recording of the show they went to by texting a code displayed onscreen at the concert and their email address.

While there is currently no official news on Linkin Park’s plans for the rest of 2011, Mike Shinoda commented in an interview with Billboard.com in January that the band was planning to write material for the as-of-yet untitled follow up to A Thousand Suns while out on the road.
